Patient Background:
Patient A, a 15-year-old, presented at our Augusta location with significant dental concerns including severe crowding and a pronounced overbite. The crowding was causing discomfort and difficulty in maintaining proper oral hygiene. Additionally, the overbite was impacting both the aesthetics of the smile and the functionality of the bite.
Treatment Plan:
After a thorough examination and assessment of Patient A’s dental condition, our orthodontic team at Carter Orthodontics devised a comprehensive treatment plan. Given the severity of the crowding and overbite, it was determined that traditional metal braces would be the most effective approach to address these issues.
Braces Treatment:
Patient A underwent the placement of traditional metal braces to begin the orthodontic correction process. The braces were customized to suit Patient A’s unique dental anatomy, and adjustments were scheduled every 4-6 weeks to gradually guide the teeth into proper alignment and correct the overbite.
Outcome:
Over the course of 24 months of treatment, Patient A exhibited remarkable progress. The metal braces effectively addressed the crowding, providing ample space for each tooth to align properly. Simultaneously, the overbite was gradually corrected, resulting in a more harmonious relationship between the upper and lower teeth. Patient A emerged with a beautifully aligned smile, improved oral function, and enhanced confidence.
