Orthodontic Treatment

Orthodontic treatment is a journey that transforms your smile, and knowing what to expect at each stage can make the process easier and more enjoyable. Whether you’re getting traditional braces or clear aligners, understanding the steps involved helps you feel prepared for the process.

  1. Initial Consultation & Evaluation At your first visit, you’ll receive a thorough evaluation of your dental health, including X-rays and digital impressions. This helps us create a personalized treatment plan based on your unique needs.
  2. Placing Braces or Starting Aligners
    • Braces: Braces are attached to your teeth with brackets and wires. Adjustments are made periodically to ensure your teeth are moving in the right direction.
    • Clear Aligners: If you choose clear aligners, you’ll receive a set of custom-made trays to wear for about 22 hours a day. New sets are given periodically to gradually shift your teeth.
  3. Regular Follow-Up Visits Throughout your treatment, regular visits are scheduled every 4-6 weeks. These appointments are essential for monitoring progress, making adjustments to braces, or checking fit and progression with aligners.
  4. Comfort & Care During Treatment Whether you have braces or aligners, some discomfort is normal, especially after adjustments. Over-the-counter pain relievers can help manage any discomfort, and your orthodontist will provide tips for maintaining comfort during treatment.
  5. Completion & Retainers Once your treatment is complete, retainers are prescribed to keep your teeth in their new position. Wearing them as directed is crucial for maintaining your smile.
